Custom Kitchen Cabinets in South Florida
CQ Woodworking designs, builds, finishes, and installs completely new kitchen cabinetry. Our shop in Sunrise handles the work from the first field measurements through the final installation, so one team is accountable for how the kitchen fits, how it's finished, and how it operates.

Custom Kitchens Built for Your Space
A new kitchen is drawn for the room it belongs to — the real wall lengths, the ceiling height, the appliance openings, and the way you actually cook and store things.
Built to your dimensions
Cabinet runs are sized to the room instead of assembled from stock widths, so filler strips and dead corners become the exception rather than the plan.
Storage designed around your habits
Drawer banks, pull-outs, pantry configurations, and appliance placement are worked out with you before anything is cut.
Finished in our own shop
Doors, fronts, and boxes are spray-finished in a controlled shop environment rather than coated on site after installation.
One team through installation
The same shop that measures and builds the cabinetry delivers it, sets it, scribes it to the walls, and adjusts the hardware.

How a New Kitchen Comes Together
Six stages, each one confirmed with you before the next begins.
- 01
Consultation & field measurements
We walk the kitchen, take field measurements, and review site conditions — existing walls, plumbing and electrical locations, appliance sizes, and how you want the room to work.
- 02
Kitchen & cabinet design
The layout is developed into a cabinet plan: runs, heights, appliance openings, interior storage, and the details that decide how the room feels.
- 03
Material & finish selection
Door style, finish direction, and hardware are chosen together, with alternatives shown where they meaningfully change the cost of the project.
- 04
Fabrication
Components are cut, assembled, and prepared in our shop to the approved drawings and the measurements taken on site.
- 05
Professional finishing
Surfaces are prepared and spray-finished in the shop. Finish samples are reviewed with you before production coatings are applied.
- 06
Delivery & installation
Cabinetry is delivered and installed, scribed to the walls, floors, and ceilings, with hardware aligned and the work walked through with you at the end.

Construction, Materials, Hardware & Finish Options
Rather than a single fixed specification, we walk through the choices that shape the kitchen and let you decide where to invest.
Cabinet construction
- Cabinet runs built to the room's measured dimensions
- Full-height and specialty cabinets where the layout calls for them
- Interior storage worked out before fabrication — drawers, pull-outs, pantry configurations
- Scribing and trim on site so the cabinetry reads as part of the house
Door styles
- Shaker and slim Shaker recessed-panel doors
- Slab / flat-panel fronts
- Raised-panel doors for a more traditional profile
- Compare the four profiles on our door styles page
Finishes
- Painted finishes, including whites and neutral grays
- Stained finishes that keep the woodgrain visible
- Finish samples reviewed with you before production coatings
- Spray-applied in the shop rather than brushed on site
Hardware
- Hinges and drawer slides specified for daily use
- Decorative handles and pulls: you select and purchase the ones you prefer, and we install them during cabinet installation
- Premium options and sensible alternatives presented together
- Hardware aligned and adjusted at installation
Specific materials, hardware, and finish products are confirmed for your project during design and selection. Compare door styles and finish directions.

New Cabinetry vs. Refacing vs. Refinishing
Three different scopes that are often confused. New custom cabinetry is our primary work; the other two are options when your existing cabinets are worth keeping.
New custom cabinetry
New cabinets designed and built for the space.
- New cabinet boxes, doors, drawer fronts, hinges, and drawer-slide hardware
- The layout can change — cabinet sizes, heights, and configurations are yours to decide
- Designed from field measurements, then fabricated and finished in our shop
- Existing cabinetry is removed when demolition is part of the project
Cabinet refacing
Existing cabinet boxes stay; doors and drawer fronts are new.
- Your existing boxes and layout remain in place
- New custom doors and drawer fronts in your chosen style
- Visible existing surfaces — face frames, end panels, exposed structure — are finished to coordinate with the new doors
- New hinges, slides, and hardware
Cabinet refinishing
Existing boxes, doors, and fronts stay and are refinished.
- Nothing is replaced — your existing components are kept
- Surfaces are cleaned, degreased, sanded, and repaired first
- A professional spray finish is applied for an even surface
- If new doors or drawer fronts are desired, we can discuss refacing options instead

Keeping your existing cabinet boxes can be the right call when the layout already works. Full details of both options live on our cabinet refacing and cabinet refinishing sections.
What Else Can Be Included
Beyond the cabinetry itself, several parts of a kitchen project can be handled or coordinated through us.
Demolition & cabinet removal
When it's included in the project, we remove the existing cabinetry before the new kitchen is installed.
Countertops & appliances during demolition
Existing countertops and appliances are removed or moved as needed to carry out the demolition and installation.
New countertops
Countertops can be provided and coordinated through CQ Woodworking as an additional scope, fabricated by our countertop subcontractor.
Other trades
Plumbing, electrical, and appliance installation are not standard cabinetry scope. When a project calls for them and it makes sense, we can coordinate qualified subcontractors — we do not perform licensed trade work ourselves.
